Andover Pedestrian Fatal Hit and Run

Juvenile stuck by a car and killed, driver fled the scene

On November 10th, 2017 at 1820 hrs, Deputies from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 700 Block of 141st Ave on the report of a juvenile male down in the street.  The male was with friends at a nearby address and had just stepped out.  The friends in the area reported that they heard a dull collision sound followed by screeching tires.  They went outside to investigate and saw their friend in the street with multiple injuries.  They did not see a vehicle.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Preliminary investigation shows injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.  We will not be identifying the decedent, other than as a 17 YOA male who was from Nowthen, MN.

We are asking if anyone around 141st Ave & Palm Street saw any concerning activity at that time to please call us or anyone who has any knowledge of the crash to contact the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office at (763) 427-1212.
