Grant Secured for Crime Victim Services
The board accepted grant funding from a division of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety in the amount of $279,028 to be used to expand services for underserved populations, such as non-English-speaking crime victims and the elderly, for fiscal years 2020 and 2021. New 911 Dispatchers Hired
Anoka County Central Communications now has four new dispatchers after the board accepted a resolution approving their hiring. The new positions were added in response to increased call volume. For more information on this item, click HERE.
Continuous Improvement Manager Position Filled
By a 5-1 vote, with Commissioner Mandy Meisner dissenting, the board approved the reclassification of employee Mike Roff from director of employee relations to continuous improvement manager. Five Transportation Items Approved
The board approved five transportation items. These items included a right-of-way acquisition in Blaine and Spring Lake Park; authorization of a highway plat in Lino Lakes; acquisition of right-of-way in Lino Lakes; a joint powers agreement for signal modifications in Blaine; and a joint powers agreement with the City of Ramsey and School District No. 11 for construction of a new traffic control signal system and associated roadway improvements. Board Accepts Donation for Community Outreach Purposes
The board accepted a $100 donation for community outreach purposes from the women of the Evangelical Church in America; the money is to be used by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office for community outreach purposes.
