Biking and Walking
Anoka County Earth Day
Did you know on Wednesday, April 22 it will be the 50th Earth Day Celebration? That’s right, the first Earth Day was in 1970!
Although we have to practice social distancing, we’d like to still celebrate Earth Day in Anoka County and recognize members of our community!
There are many ways to celebrate but we’d like to focus on walking and biking on Wednesday, April 22. Did you know that both walking and biking help improve the environment? Here’s how!
Biking and walking doesn’t pollute the air - no need to fill up on gas when your biking or walking!
Biking and walking doesn’t create carbon dioxide
Biking and walking reduces traffic congestion
Biking and walking takes up less space and fewer roadways
Take the pledge to bike or walk next Wednesday, April 22 and you’ll get a free $10 gift card to a local coffee shop, restaurant, or retailer.
Plus, post a photo that shows you participating in Earth Day and use the #AnokaCountyEarthDay on any of your social media accounts for a chance to win a $100 Target gift card!
Your social media account must be set to public and your post must be shareable in order to qualify. Tag Commute Solutions to double your chances!
