Annually, the United States Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD), asks communities to count the number of people experiencing homeless in their area during the last 10 days in January. It is referred to as the "Point-In-Time Count" or "PIT Count". Anoka County organizes the county-wide effort in partnership with members of the Heading Home Anoka Housing Collaborative.
The Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is set for Wednesday, January 23, 2019. On this day, teams will be sent around Anoka County to known areas where people who are experiencing homelessness are.
We need your help as a community volunteer to go out with others to survey those who are experiencing homelessness on this day. The times for volunteers vary. Times and locations can be found by clicking the logo above.
