Roadwork Projects Done by Other Agencies

Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)

MnDOT Traffic & Road Conditions Information
Use caution and drive safely. If possible, use alternate routes. Remember, as you travel through a work zone reduce your speed, adjust your lane position away from workers, and prepare for the unexpected. Allow extra time for your trip or, if possible, use an alternate route. Projects may cause some inconvenience, but the benefits will be a safer and more efficient roadway system. Watch for road signs and articles in local newspapers to keep you informed. Your patience and cooperation is sincerely appreciated.

I-35W MnPASS Project

Below are links to Project Updates summarizing upcoming construction and traffic changes for the I-35W MnPASS project. Updates are posted periodically.

2020 TRAFFIC IMPACTS

During 2020 construction, all driving lanes on I-35W between Roseville and Lino Lakes are expected to remain open in both directions. Construction will occur in the middle lanes of I-35W between County Road C in Roseville and County Road J in Blaine, and on the northbound lanes between County Road J and Sunset Avenue in Lino Lakes.
I-35W traffic in both directions will be shifted to the outside lanes between County Road C and County Road J while crews pave the middle of I-35W through summer.

There will be some short-term closures of I-35W ramps. No two consecutive  ramps will be closed at the same time. All traffic impacts are tentative and  weather dependent.

CURRENT TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Road Closures

October 30 - November 2

Weekend closure of Co. Rd. C Oct. 30-Nov. 2

This weekend, crews will be removing the last section of the I-35W bridge over Co. Rd. C. This will require a closure of Co. Rd C at I-35W, starting at 10 p.m. Fri, Oct. 30 through 5 a.m. Mon, Nov. 2.

Drivers should follow the detour using Long Lake Rd., Co. Rd. B2 and Cleveland Ave. to get around the road closure. I-35W will remain open during this work.

In addition, drivers on westbound Co. Rd. C will not be able to access the ramp to southbound I-35W. Drivers should follow the detour using northbound Cleveland Ave. to westbound Co. Rd. D to southbound I-35W. Drivers will still be able to use the ramp from Long Lake Rd. to southbound I-35W.

Drivers on northbound I-35W will not be able to use the exit ramp to westbound Co. Rd C, but access to Cleveland Ave. will remain open during the work.

All construction activities and closures are weather permitting and subject to change.

Road work continues to be a critical service. MnDOT is committed to protecting the health, safety and well-being of its employees, contractors and all Minnesotans. Crews continue to follow the guidance of state and federal health officials to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Other MnDOT Projects in Anoka County

Highway 65 Safety and Mobility Corridor Study
MnDOT, in partnership with Anoka County and the Cities of Ham Lake, Blaine and Spring Lake Park, began a far-reaching study of the Highway 65 Corridor in August 2018.
