Foster Family Groups

Social workers, foster parent trainers, and health care professionals are also available as resources to help both foster parents and children adapt and flourish. In addition, Anoka County has 2 Foster Family groups who have meetings where foster providers can talk with others who are also caring for foster children.

Group Locations

Dates are subject to change due to holiday schedules, please RSVP to the facilitators of each group to confirm dates and to allow us to prepare for adequate childcare and refreshments. 

These confidential groups are for Anoka County child foster care providers only.

Morning Group


Day: Second Tuesday of each month
Time: 10:00am - 11:30am
Location: Advent Lutheran Church, 540 E. River Road, Anoka, MN 55303

Childcare and light refreshments are provided.  Please bring your own beverages. Masks are required when not eating.

Evening Group


Day: Third Thursday of each month
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Location: Oak Haven Church, 1555 Constance Blvd, Ham Lake, MN 55304

Childcare and a pizza dinner are provided. Please bring your own beverages. Masks are required when not eating.
