Waiver Services

The Minnesota Department of Human Services oversees publicly funded waiver programs that support people with a variety of disabilities, including developmental disabilities, chronic medical conditions, acquired or traumatic brain injuries and physical disabilities.
Over the past two decades, Minnesota has successfully transitioned from high use of institutional services, such as regional treatment centers and nursing facilities, to effectively serving people with disabilities with flexible, cost-effective home and community-based services.

Local counties, such as Anoka County, facilitate the use of waiver funds and the Alternative Care Program. Following is a list of waiver programs. The link will tell you more information about these individual waivers and who is eligible. If you think you or your loved one may be eligible, contact our Long Term Support Services at (763)323-6089 or click here .

All waivers and Alternative Care programs offer a Consumer Directed Community Support option.
