Join fellow waste reduction and recycling enthusiasts to learn about all facets of waste management and become an advocate in your community. Learn why it is so important to recycle and compost the correct items and properly dispose of your waste. Recycling Ambassadors are trained by industry experts through a six-week course in the areas of reducing waste, recycling, composting, resource recovery and disposal. The fall 2021 class will be held virtually via Zoom.

- Tuesday, October, 12, 2021: Composting and Preventing Food Waste
- Tuesday, October 19, 2021: Household Hazardous Waste and Problem Materials
- Tuesday, October 26, 2021: Business and School Waste, Recycling and Organics
- Tuesday, November 2, 2011: Event Recycling and Motivating Behavior Change

Participants agree to attend all classes. After completing the course, graduates agree to volunteer 30 hours of public outreach. Giving back is what makes the Recycling Ambassadors program special. Participants put their skills to work by helping others learn to reduce their waste and create a better environment.
Unexpected absences policy
Attendance is required at all six classes; however, we understand that unexpected situations may arise that prevent you from attending class. Please let the program coordinator know if you are going to miss a class. If you miss two or more classes, you will be dropped from the class with an opportunity to participate in a later training session if space allows.

Along with your Recycling Ambassador peers, Anoka County staff is available to help you be successful in your outreach. Resources such as brochures and educational displays are available. Recycling Ambassadors will be notified of many opportunities to complete their volunteer hours.
