Bus / Train

Buses and trains help to alleviate congestion. It's estimated that public transportation services in America's most congested cities saved travelers 1.1 billion hours in travel time. Public transportation also plays a vital role in reducing pollution. It produces 95% less volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nearly half as much carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) for every passenger mile traveled as compared to traveling with private vehicles.

Resources available for transit riders include a Guaranteed Ride Home program and use of free Park & Ride and Park & Pool Lots. There are also bike racks and bike lockers available for people interested in using a bike / transit combination for their commute.
