Andover House Fire Rescue

On 4-25-18 at 7: 18 AM, Deputies were dispatched to a house on fire in the 139th Ave Block of Yucca St NW along with the Andover Fire Department. When Deputies arrived, two occupants of the home were still inside in the basement of the home. A 60-year-old male was unable to get his 82-year-old male relative out of the home. Deputy Bolles then entered a window that had been broken out and was able to carry the 82-year-old who was found on the floor to a window and Deputy Bolles and Deputy Duren were able to lift the 82-year-old out of the basement. Deputy Bolles and then assisted the 60-year-old out of the same window and verified that there were no other occupants inside the home. The fast action by the Deputies and Andover Fire Fighters on the scene most likely saved the lives of the home's occupants. Both occupants were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart said, “The deputies demonstrated a willingness to risk their own lives and safety in order to secure the lives of our citizens.

At its core, this illustrates what sets our profession apart and why I am so grateful for all those who serve others in the public safety arena.

I am confident that their actions made a huge difference in this situation and I commend them for their bravery.”
