Multimedia Intern Job Description


Job type: Part-time, on-site, ongoing

Job length: 12 weeks

Reports to: Community Engagement Manager

Academic Credit: Upon request

About the Job

The Anoka County Library Multimedia Intern is an unpaid internship that supports the Community Engagement Manager with day-to-day responsibilities managing marketing, media, and promotional initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, creating, and formatting media for online and social media promotion
  • Working with staff to create content
  • Shooting on-site at library and event locations
  • Capture photos and/or videos of (including, but not limited to):
    • Volunteers
    • Patron interations with librarians
    • Library events
  • Editing, naming, and organizing photo and/or video files
  • Work with library staff to help obtain all necessary photo/video permissions
  • Work with library staff to stage image/video shots
  • Attending meetings and taking notes
  • Working with outside teams to accomplish tasks
  • Additional tasks as needed

Required Skills

  • Professional demeanor and eagerness to learn
  • Possess superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to communicate with people outside of the team
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and lead projects
  • Familiarity with media editing software and recording equipment
  • Proficient multitasker, organized, and keen attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic computer skills
