Yesterday’s fatal traffic accident in Ham Lake continues to be investigated. It appears that two vehicles, one northbound on Lexington Ave and one southbound, were involved in a head on collision and one of the drivers of those two vehicles was deceased. The third vehicle was northbound on Lexington Ave and happened upon the first crash and struck the vehicles in the roadway. Neither vehicle involved in the first, head on collision had any lights on and both were in the northbound lane of traffic. The decedent was southbound on Lexington Ave. in a 2005 Ford Taurus. The decedent is identified as:

Occupants of the northbound vehicle were traveling in a 2008 Pontiac Torrent. The Pontiac was occupied by one adult and two children. The adult female and her children are identified as:
Danielle Lynne Eakman DOB: 2-10-1980
Ham Lake, MN
Danielle Eakman and her two children were transported to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. Eakman is listed in Serious but stable condition and was conscious. One of the children, a male, was transferred to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital in serious condition. A female child had only minor injuries.
The third driver was not injured. He is identified as:

The case remains under the investigation of the Minnesota State Patrol, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
