On 7-31-2017 at 1309 hrs., Deputies from the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a personal injury accident at the intersection of 7th St and 237th Ave NE in the City of East Bethel. A sign holder for a construction crew doing street work had been struck by a passenger vehicle. Upon the arrival of Deputies, the victim was found to be in grave condition. The victim was airlifted to HCMC with life threatening serious injuries. The victim is a 33-year-old female who lives in the city of Fergus Falls, MN.
The driver of the passenger car who struck the construction worker was a 19-year-old female from East Bethel. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but it does appear likely that distracted driving played a role in the accident. The vehicle was traveling westbound on 237th Ave at the time the worker was struck. The case remains under investigation by the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Names of the parties involved are being withheld now pending notification of family.
