On April 3, 2017, a ceremony was held at the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office for the promotion of two staff members and the swearing in of two new members of the Office. Sheriff James Stuart administered the oath of office to newly promoted and hired members:
From Detention Deputy to Licensed Deputy:
Deputy Matthew Madson. Deputy Madson was promoted to licensed deputy and will begin his assignment in the Patrol Division. Deputy Madson had previously served as a Detention Deputy since November 17, 2014.
Deputy Ehren Lentsch. Deputy Lentsch was promoted to licensed deputy and will begin his assignment in the Patrol Division. Deputy Lentsh had previously served as a Detention Deputy since December 7, 2015.
Newly hired staff:
Forensic Scientist II Brenda Hummel – DNA. Forensic Scientist Hummel has a Biology Degree from the University of Minnesota, a Science of Education license from the University of Minnesota and a Forensic Science Certificate from Hamline University. Forensic Scientist Hummel had previously served as a Forensic Scientist II for the City of Minneapolis and will be assigned to the Regional Forensic Lab’s DNA section.
Detention Deputy Peter Minwegen. Detention Deputy Minwegen has an Associate in Arts Degree from Anoka Ramsey Community College. He has previous experience as a Reserve Police Officer for the State Fair Police Department and has previously worked for Security at the Mall of America.
