Ham Lake Home Invasion : 2 Suspects in Custody

On February 2, 2017 at 2:00 AM the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in the 9000 block of Birchview Lane NE in the City of Ham Lake to a reported home invasion robbery. The home was occupied by an adult male and an adult female. The complainants reported being awakened by four males breaking in the front door of the residence while the complainants were sleeping.  The suspects were allegedly armed with a long gun and threatened one of the complainants with the firearm. The male complainant was assaulted by one of the suspects, but required no medical attention. The suspects were demanding money from the male complainant whilst they were assaulting the complainant. The suspects searched the home, and left with some of the complainant’s electronics.  When the suspects fled the residence, the complainants were able to get the license plate of the vehicle suspected to have been involved in the robbery.

The complainants could only provide vague descriptions of the suspects, stating they were young black males wearing dark hoodies with the hoods pulled up.  The license plate # of the suspect vehicle was broadcast and the registered owner had a Blaine address.  The Blaine Police Department stopped the suspect vehicle and two of the four suspects were taken into custody and a firearm and the complainants property were recovered inside the vehicle.

There was an adult male and a juvenile male taken into custody. Both reside in the city of Blaine.  The other two suspects remain at large. The adult suspect who was arrested is identified as:

Eric Javon Gauthreaux

DOB: 11-21-1995

9103 Alamo St NE

Blaine, MN 55449

The suspect has been arrested BUT HAS NOT YET BEEN CHARGED. The case will be reviewed by the Anoka County Attorney’s office who will determine if / what charges are appropriate. Gauthreaux remains in custody at the Anoka County Jail and the juvenile is in custody in Lino Lakes.

The case remains under investigation.  Anyone who has information regarding the identity of the other 2 suspects is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office at (763) 427-1212.
