New Staff at the Sheriff's Office

On January 26th, 2017 Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart swore in nine new staff members who are joining the ranks of the Partrol Division and the Jail Division. Along with administering the oath of office, Sheriff Stuart welcomed the new members and their families to the ACSO family.

Licensed Deputy Sheriff’s:

Deputy Derick Lien:  Deputy Lien has a law enforcement degree from Alexandria Technical & Community College and has previously served as a Police Office with the Williston, North Dakota Police Department. Deputy Lien will begin his ACSO career assigned to the Patrol Division.

Deputy Justin Dowley: Deputy Dowley began working for the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in August of 2013 as a Detention Deputy.  Deputy Dowley has been promoted to the rank of Licensed Deputy Sheriff and he will continue his career with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in the Patrol Division.

Deputy Gordy Vitek: Deputy Vitek has a law enforcement degree from Alexandria Technical & Community College. He has previous experience working as a Community Service Officer with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. He was promoted to the rank of Licensed Deputy Sheriff and he will continue his career in the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division.

Deputy Joseph Bohmbach: Deputy Bohmbach has a degree in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Deputy Bohmbach previously served in the US Navy and last served at the rank of Lieutenant. He was also a reserve police officer with the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department. Deputy Bohmbach will begin his career in the Patrol Division.

Deputy Cheenou Thao:  Deputy Thao has a degree in Law Enforcement from North Hennepin Community College. He previously served in the US Army and the Army National Guard. He has previous experience working with Hennepin County as an adult correctional Officer.  Deputy Thao will begin his career in the Patrol Division.

Detention Deputy:

 

Detention Deputy Courtney Arvidson: Detention Deputy Arvidson has a Criminal Justice Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Stout.  She previously interned with the Minnesota Department of corrections and worked as a Work release officer with Community Corrections. Deputy Arvidson will begin her career with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in the Jail Division.

Detention Deputy Jacob Olson: Detention Deputy Olson has a law enforcement degree from Century College. Detention Deputy Olson previously served as a Community Service Office with the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and will begin his career with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in the Jail Division.

Detention Deputy Kevin Peterson: Detention Deputy Peterson has a law enforcement degree from North Hennepin Community College. He has previously worked in the security industry and will begin his career with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in the Jail Division.

Detention Deputy Thomas Kordiak: Detention Deputy Kordiak has a degree in law enforcement from Minnesota State University.  He has previously served in the security department of Allina Health.  Detention Deputy Kordiak will begin his career with the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office in the Jail Division.
