Parents can do a number of things to ensure a healthy future for their child. One of the most important actions parents can take is to make sure their children are up to date on their vaccinations. There are four vaccines recommended for preteens to help protect your children, as well as their friends and family members from serious illness.
Recommended Vaccinations for Preteens and Teens (Middle and High School):
Flu - Protection against the flu and should have by the end of October of each year
Tdap - Protection against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough
HPV - Protection against cancers caused by this virus
Quadrivalent Meningococcal Conjugate - Protection against meningitis and blood infections
Teens and Young Adults (18-24 yrs. old) can receive a meningitis vaccine as well.
Vaccinations do not only protect your children and yourself from disease, but they also protect the spread of diseases to your family and friends.
