The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recognized and honored citizens in Anoka County who devoted their time, energy, and talents to improve public health within their communities on April 14, 2015, at their Board Meeting. Awards are based on leadership, community health improvement, collaboration among individuals, organizations and agencies, and advocacy promoting health and healthy behaviors, and/or protecting the health and safety of county citizens.
Dr. Abdulhusain Nathani
Dr. Abdulhusain Nathani was presented with a 2015 Public Health Recognition Award for his leadership, advocacy and community health improvement efforts, through his volunteer work providing medical services to individuals at Stepping Stone Shelter.

Care Team at Allina Health Fridley Clinic
The Care Team at Allina Health Fridley Clinic was presented with a 2015 Public Health Recognition Award for providing refugee health physicals and being the first clinic in the Allina system to offer this service.
