Heart at Work Wellness Committee

Mission:  To improve the health and well being of employees and their families, the Anoka County Heart at Work Committee will promote a healthier lifestyle though awareness, education and activities.

Heart at Work Programs:
  • Tai Chi Classes allows participants to exercise their mind and body as they move through various poses in a fluid motion. Physical benefits of Tai Chi include the gradual improvement of flexibility and muscle strength.
  • Breath and Stretch Movement Class focuses on stretching and toning your muscles.
  • Weight Watchers provides on-site meetings where support and guidance are offered to help individuals reach and maintain their goal weight. Employees benefit from the practical experiences and tips of others losing weight.
New challenges and opportunities are provided monthly to keep you healthy and fit. Activities include:
  • “Do” Campaign – move your body for 10 minutes, 3x a day
  • February is American Heart Month
  • Battle of the Steps – six week program
  • Shape-up Challenge
  • Health Walk
  • Winter Warm-Up Challenge
  • 5K Walk/Run at Bunker Hills
  • Healthy Cooking Demonstration Brown Bag Seminar
  • Stress Management Program
