DWP is for families applying for cash benefits. Families can receive a maximum of 4 consecutive months in a 12-month period of quick and intense job search assistance, case management and program supports. It provides participants the opportunity to conduct an intensive job search with the support of Employment Counselors.
Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
MFIP is a comprehensive work-focused program that emphasizes economic stability for low-income families receiving federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funding. MFIP encourages work, supports training and assists individuals with the development of positive work skills, job-seeking skills, problem solving, career laddering, and building work experience supported by MFIP Employment Counselors. This proven case management approach effectively increases income while promoting economic stability and independence.
Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) Employment and Training (E&T)
SNAP E&T is a program designed to assist SNAP recipients with job search assistance in order to gain employment. This program features personalized services from a vocational counselor in developing employment goals and connecting individuals with appropriate supports.
Employment & Training Services Includes:
Job seeking skills classes: Interview preparation, information on how to fill out applications, resumes, cover letters, and job retention training
Career Exploration: Explore in demand occupations and complete individualized assessment to develop employment and training goals
Job Search Resources: Career assessment, internet job search
Case management: Individual goal setting and problem solving assistance
Support Services: Determined on an individual and funding basis to assist with removing barriers to employment
