Tenant Based Rental Assistance

TBRA Applications will be available Monday, March 13, 2017

Anoka County Community and Government Relations will be accepting applications for 10 openings in its Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program.  The program is funded by HUD on a year-to-year basis; it is NOT Section 8 nor a source of permanent rental help. 

                 Submit completed applications by no later than:   
                             4:00 p.m. - Friday, March 24, 2017

How to Apply?

  • Download the TBRA application (below) or request one by mail, or pick up a packet from our office available March 13
  • Read the packet thoroughly - complete/sign where noted
  • Completed application should be hand delivered or mailed to our office (postmarked no later than March 24, 2017).            Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted.
  • DEADLINE to submit applications is 4:00 p.m. on March 24, 2017. Late applications will not be considered.
  •  Preferences will be given to applicants who are homeless, near homeless or severely rent burdened
  •  Applications will be date and time stamped upon receipt
  •  Applicants will be notified of acceptance or ineligibility for TBRA by no later than April 7
  • Acceptance does not mean you will receive TBRA - additional steps must be completed prior to approval
  • TBRA subsidy is capped at $350/month, household is responsible to pay remaining rent balance
  • TBRA Program uses Income Limits and Rent Limits set annually by HUD; income calculations include income and assets from all household members
